Well, here’s the thing. If you are not doing your ‘real job’, then yes, absolutely… AI is coming for ‘your’ job.
Figure (a major robot manufacturer) Plans To Ship 100,000 Humanoid Robots Over Next 4 Years
Dr Alan D. Thompson lists the above article on his website as a ‘milestone’ and ‘justification’ for his ‘Alan’s conservative countdown to AGI‘ (artificial general intelligence). Dr. Thompson, according to his website, is “a world expert in artificial intelligence (AI), specialising in the augmentation of human intelligence.” It’s also pretty obvious he is a pretty smart fellow ;).
So, yes, if a robot can do ‘your job’, you can rest assured, it eventually (and in the not too distant future) will. But if a robot can do ‘your job’, is it actually ‘your job’? Well, not any more, LOL! I hate that ‘that’ sounds so trite, but seriously… if it’s really ‘your job’, then a robot would not be able to do it, it’s yours…
If it’s ‘yours’, then only ‘you’ can do it.
I know that sounds pedantically obvious when pointed out… but really… what is ‘your job’? Really, and as uncomfortable as that might be, think about that for a minute? What is ‘your job’, really?
This is the ‘cusp’ or ‘precipice’ that our world now stands at… is ‘faced with’… What is a ‘humans job’?
Now… here is the thing… no one else can actually ‘decide’ that for you. It’s ‘yours’, you are the one who has to ‘figure’ it out. Ironically, even when someone else knows, and tells you, it usually doesn’t make any difference at all anyway. It’s a lot like riding a bike… all the explanation in the world will not ‘endow’ the ‘skill’ to ride a bike. You just have to get on the darn thing, get some motion going, and figure it out by actually ‘doing it’. (It is a blessing to have someone there to catch you when you fall, and you will inevitably fall at some point, but just a little help can save lots of unnecessary bumps, bruises, scrapes, and scars.)
But if ‘governments’ or ‘organizations’ or even just another person ends up ‘dictating’ to you what your ‘job’ is… like as some sort of ‘bizarre’ remedy to AI costing everyone their ‘jobs’… literally all hell will begin to ‘break loose’. I wonder if that’s what people mean when they talk about the ‘second coming of Christ’… when all hell breaks loose? ROFL (that’s a bit of an inside joke, so don’t feel bad if you don’t get it).
But anyway… there is no reason to fear AI (artificial intelligence) or even AGI (artificial general intelligence)… it is still fundamentally ‘artificial’ and always will be.
artificial (adj.)
late 14c., “not natural or spontaneous,” from Old French artificial, from Latin artificialis “of or belonging to art,” from artificium “a work of art; skill; theory, system,” from artifex (genitive artificis) “craftsman, artist, master of an art” (music, acting, sculpting, etc.), from stem of ars “art” (see art (n.)) + -fex “maker,” from facere “to do, make” (from PIE root *dhe- “to set, put”).
The earliest use in English seems to be in the phrase artificial day “part of the day from sunrise to sunset” (as opposed to the natural day of 24 hours). The meaning “made by man, contrived by human skill and labor” is from early 15c. The word was applied from 16c. to anything made in imitation of, or as a substitute for, what is natural, whether real (light, tears) or not (teeth, flowers). The meaning “fictitious, assumed, not genuine” is from 1640s; that of “full of affectation, insincere” is from 1590s.
Artificial insemination dates from 1894. Artificial intelligence “the science and engineering of making intelligent machines” was coined in 1956.
also a.i., by 1971, abbreviation of artificial intelligence. Earlier in 20c. it stood for artificial insemination.

Now, it is worth noting, that spontaneity is not an ‘intelligent’ thing, and if it is ‘replicated’ it is no longer spontaneous… by definition. Intelligence is replicable, but spontaneity is not a replicable thing, and never will be… it literally can’t be. It’s like a ‘diode’… you can have spontaneous replication, but you cannot replicate spontaneous. ROFL… Again, that’s a bit of an inside joke, but it still makes sense without all the ‘backstory’.
Spontaneity is a ‘spiritual’ thing, and in the end, defies any sort of rational explanation at all. That’s actually it’s ‘point’. Get it? ROFL.
So, if you’re still wondering what ‘your’ ‘job’ is… Now is the time to start figuring that out, and getting ‘to it’, in some sort of ‘meaningful’ way that also enriches you (and the people around you). I started a Light Club if you need some help… because sometimes even just a little help can save lots of unnecessary bumps, bruises, scrapes, and scars.
